1500 Notchback and Camper Crich Tramway Village Derbyshire
When I was about 20 I really wanted a VW 1500 Notch. Dropped a good few inches on wide steelies with a fat exhaust was the plan.
My dad1 said, “the fuel tank is in the nose. How about no.”
I ended up with an MGB instead.

My dad had a 1300cc Beetle when he was about 20 and there were many stories of him looping it on wet roads with very little effort (but then, it was 1300ccs, and I know how he drove his V8 Holden Statesmans — which was… enthusiastically. That’s how I drove my Corolla, which is what I had when I wanted the Notch). So I think he was right. ↩
